Infoblox swaps UK bosses

IPO funds will be lavished on channel, says incoming honcho Paul Anderson

Network management vendor Infoblox's new UK boss has vowed to get closer to the channel and has prioritised growing its emerging network automation business.

Paul Anderson (pictured) joined Infoblox last month in the position of sales director, west EMEA, replacing Simon Horrocks following his decision to return to Australia.

Anderson said the vendor, which in the UK works through distributor Exclusive Networks and several resellers including Xchanging and Accumuli, was a "story of two halves".

"By any measure we are market leader in the traditional DDI [DNS, DHCP and IPAM] market," he explained. "But where we are growing is around a network automation and control conversation.

"We are never going to be as easy a sale as Cisco, but with our network automation control message we become a more value-based sale and as a result business partners can leverage more from us."

In his new role, Anderson, who previously worked for IBM-owned vendor BigFix and before that Trend Micro, will look after the UK, Ireland, South Africa and Gibralta.

Infoblox – which recently launched a formal partner programme – underwent its initial public offering last month and Anderson indicated that a good deal of the funds would be injected into the channel.

"We absolutely need to make our business partners as effective as possible as we enter the next phase of [our development]," Anderson said.
