Joe McNally memorial service set for July
All friends and colleagues welcome to attend, family say
CRN has been told that the memorial service of Compaq UK and Ireland founder Joe McNally is set for July.
It will take place on 17 July at 2.30pm at the Holy Trinity Church in Cookham, Berkshire with a reception afterwards.
His wife Anne McNally, said: "All friends of Joe are very welcome to attend."
McNally sadly passed away in March aged 69 after a battle with cancer.
He launched Compaq UK in 1984 with a reported $40,000 (£25,000) and no dedicated staff, turning the company into a $1bn enterprise by 1997, the first of Compaq's subsidiaries to hit the figure.
He is also credited as being one of the founding fathers of the UK channel as it is known now.
McNally retired from the industry in 2001, the same year HP acquired Compaq in the biggest vendor merger in IT industry history at the time.
