Maverick inks Barco deal for meetings system distribution

European expansion on the cards for audiovisual and IT opportunity

Maverick Europe has signed up to distribute the ClickShare meetings and presentation system from Barco.

Jon Sidwick, head of Maverick Europe, said it has secured the value distribution contract for the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

"And there are discussions regarding two more important countries," he said. "We have placed ClickShare into our central supply business, enabling further scaling of sales into other regions including Africa, the Middle East and eastern Europe."

Sidwick (pictured) added that Maverick sees ClickShare, which functions wirelessly, as a strong audiovisual and IT opportunity for itself and its partners.

"The Maverick Europe teams are busy supporting the launch with reseller recruitment and enablement events which are already oversubscribed," he added.

Former Maverick staffer Jane Hammersley has rejoined the distributor from RGB, where she was running the high-end projector distribution business, to manage the new signing.

Her new title at Maverick will be European development manager for ClickShare UK, and she will be based in Basingstoke.
