Computacenter gets motivated
Infrastructure and services giant is shortlisted for national award with its staff incentive scheme
Computacenter has been shortlisted for a national award for its efforts to provide its 4,500 UK staff with strategic rewards and recognition.
The Employee Benefits Awards, which recognise and showcase employers that have made a significant difference to their organisation through their reward strategies, shortlisted Computacenter's Excellence in Action (EIA) programme in its Most Effective Motivation or Incentive Strategy category.
In short, the programme encouraged UK staff to acknowledge particularly outstanding work from their peers and colleagues, by sending thank you e-cards through a specially developed intranet system, with the staff receiving the most recognition being given different awards, including trips to glamorous locations.
It was such a success that the VAR decided to roll out the scheme to its Ireland and South Africa offices as well.
Winners will be announced on 31 May.
Computacenter’s programme was created and implemented by incentive and motivation agency AYMTM.
Natalie Gunson, managing director of AYMTM, said: “Computacenter’s EIA has proven that a properly communicated, easy-to-use recognition programme is just as important to staff as financial rewards for a job well done. This impacts on company culture and how staff feel about their jobs, which is why it is so significant that the scheme has been shortlisted for such a prestigious, yet meaningful award.”
