Softcat claws way on to CPC contract

VAR is one of a handful to provide backup, archiving and networking solutions to UK further education establishments

Softcat is one of several suppliers to be selected for the next phase of the Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) further education framework.

Under the terms of the deal, Softcat has added two framework lots – backup and archiving, and networking equipment – to the four that were awarded by the CPC in January. Softcat already supplies desktop hardware and peripherals.

Andy Bruen, Softcat’s public sector frameworks manager, commented: “This award follows hot on the heels of our Commercial Partner of the Year accolade from Cisco and winning HP’s Storage Partner of the Year Award, which should see CPC’s membership benefit from our standout competencies in storage, backup and networking. It is another important step forward in our strategy to expand and grow our service offering into further education and the wider education space.”

As a result, Softcat and the other selected suppliers will provide backup, archiving and networking solutions to a wide range of institutions involved in further education across the UK.
