Varlink to offer Portsmith mobile peripherals
York distributor adds rugged, industrial-class cradles and adapters
Varlink has signed up to sell Portsmith Technologies accessories for mobile computing applications.
Mike Pullon (pictured), chief executive of Varlink, confirmed the add-ons will complement existing brands the distributor carries.
"It also means that we can offer additional added value to the Motorola, Intermec and Honeywell reseller channels," he said in a statement.
Mark Roberts, managing director of Portsmith Europe, said Varlink's support offering sealed the deal.
"The marketing tools and distribution services that they offer resellers are outstanding and their total focus on working with the reseller channel reassures us that customers will be given project and total product support," he added.
Portsmith cradles have been approved by Motorola to use with its products, such as the Motorola MC55, MC65, MC70, MC75, MC3000, MC3100, MC9000 and MC9100.
The Ethernet cradles can be custom-designed for other brands, and the company is in discussions with several marques distributed by Varlink, the company said.
