ThinkGrid lifts cloud barrier with no-commitment tier

Smaller resellers targeted in partner programme revamp

ThinkGrid is aiming to lift the barrier for smaller resellers taking their first steps in cloud computing with the introduction of a Silver tier to its partner programme.

Channel-focused outfit ThinkGrid provides resellers with the infrastructure to migrate to cloud computing services.

The new accreditation requires no sales commitment from the partner and is designed to assuage the reluctance among smaller, risk-averse resellers to move to cloud computing due to financial concerns.

Scott Holmes, director of sales at ThinkGrid, said: "This will reduce the perceived risks from partners and help them realise the true business opportunity from the cloud, so they can enjoy the increased margins and recurring revenue it can bring.

"Newer, smaller resellers are careful to allocate resources."

Silver partners will enjoy a discount of 10 per cent and access to marketing benefits including ThinkGrid's Seminar-in-a-Box materials and technical support. Beyond the Silver tier, 20 and 30 per cent discounts are applied to higher tiers, but with a sales commitment attached.

"ThinkGrid really do the ‘boring' bits," added Holmes. "We then hand over the building blocks to partners and it is up to them what market they pitch to, and they can really stamp their own brand on the finished product.

"We are not giving the customer the finished product as there is no opportunity to add value this way."
