CoSoSys eyes DLP channel glory

Romanian vendor signs up first UK distributor in the form of Softek

The UK data loss prevention (DLP) market has a new contender as figures suggest the much-touted technology is finally set for take-off.

Romania-based outfit CoSoSys is looking to break into the UK channel with its Endpoint Protector single-interfaced DLP solution after inking a deal with distributor Softek.

The agreement comes on the heels of figures from analyst TechNavio predicting that the DLP market will grow at a rate of 17.5 per cent annually between 2011 and 2015.

Mike Bienvenu, technical director at Softek, which will push EndPoint protector to its network of 1,500 UK resellers, said: "The DLP market is definitely growing even though the country is still in recession and companies do not have a large amount of money to spend."

CoSoSys sales director Christina Pop said the firm is already established in continental Europe, the US and Asia, and is now taking a crack at the UK.

"Endpoint Protect is a device control product to prevent data leakage through any kind of device; that is the basic model and we have added to it and made the Content Aware Protection System which prevents data leakage to cloud," she explained.

"Cloud is more and more popular as companies always update all their confidential data to it. If employees upload to cloud using this system, we prevent leakage by controlling the data."

Bienvenu added: "CoSoSys has really good-quality DLP products that cover Windows, Mac and Linux and this is unique in the marketplace.

"The product is not complex and it is not rocket science to operate at all; it is very intuitive. It is reasonably priced and this makes it competitive."
