Dave Stevinson becomes real tennis VIP

Distributor sales director wins real tennis prize

Remember VIP Computers' Dave Stevinson's bid for success in real tennis? He is now the proud recipient of the winner's trophy for the Manchester Real Tennis Handicap Singles for 2012.

"It nearly killed me at the age of 41," joked Stevinson (pictured, holding aloft his prizes). "And I will treasure my winnings – two silver shields, a crystal glass, some champagne and a load of cakes."

Stevinson's name will be added to the winners board which lists every winner in the match since 1876. Real tennis was the precursor to lawn tennis, and was played and popularised in the mid-16th century by Henry VIII.
