Countdown to Leaderboard Challenge begins

With just a few days to go to the Blenheim Triathlon, the tech CEOs still need support

Swimming with jellyfish in the name of charity is not something many channel chiefs will list as a favourite pastime.

But Kelway head Phil Doye (pictured) was forced to do just that after forgetting his wetsuit as he trained for the upcoming Blenheim Triathlon at last week's HDS partner conference in Barcelona.

In just eight days' time, Doye and a group of other IT chiefs including Computacenter's Neil Muller, Touchbase's Mike Danson, Monitise's Alastair Lukies and 2e2's Terry Burt will take part in the triathlon with the aim of raising a whopping £250,000 for Sport Relief.

Doye said he is 75 per cent of the way there to hitting his £25,000 sponsorship target and he and the rest of the team need one final push to achieve their goals.

"The past couple of months have flown by and no doubt in common with the rest of the Leaderboard Team I am wishing that I had done a bit more training," Doye said.

"I am convinced that the rest of the team are underplaying the amount of training they have done - a bit of pre-race competitiveness creeping in - but I'm looking forward to the day and more importantly the team are on track to raise £250,000 which will go a long way to supporting those living unimaginably tough lives both in the UK and abroad."
