SDG opens BSC doors even wider

Distribution giant encourages more resellers to take advantage of its multimillion-pound investment

SDG has opened up its Business Solution Centre (BSC) network to its European resellers as it strives to put the value into VAD.

The distributor currently has two BSCs - one at its Birmingham headquarters and the other in Langley - and so far they have been used by more than 2,500 resellers to demo hardware and software solutions from a range of vendors including Citrix, HP, Huawei, IBM, Intel, Symantec, Veeam and VMware.

Particular areas of focus for the centres include consumerisation, desktop transformation, infrastructure virtualisation, storage, security and unified communications.

Paul Eccleston (pictured), managing director of SDG, said: "The Business Solution Centre is a strategic investment for the group. The network will evolve significantly through the coming year, it will help our partners grow their solution and services capabilities and the channel will also see some very unique initiatives driven out of the BSC that will make a positive impact on their business."

Chris Ginnelly, managing director of Civica Services, was fulsome in his praise for the BSC.

"SDG's Business Solution Centre is unique in the marketplace. Nowhere else can we bring a customer to work through the industry's leading technologies and be supported to deliver valuable solutions to our customers," he said. "We have found the facility helps us increase our overall deal size and dramatically shorten the sales cycle. This is true value distribution."
