Encryption vendor lands in Europe
Vormetric aims to sign a "handful" of specialist channel partners across EMEA
Security vendor Vormetric is looking to ruffle the feathers of Oracle and Microsoft as it prepares to launch in EMEA.
The encryption specialist, which already has around 1,000 worldwide customers, 15 of which are in the Fortune 500, is looking to EMEA to sign a "handful of specialised partners", which will be announced later this month.
To cope with the expansion, the California-based firm have appointed new staff, including Paul Ayers, vice president of EMEA.
Talking to ChannelWeb, Ayers said he saw the big database vendors such as Microsoft and Oracle, rather than other security speciailsts, as Vormetric's main competition.
"Our unique value is that we are the only technology that can cover both structured and unstructured data across those platforms," he said.
Vormetric's partner programme, which offers reselelrs deal registration, marketing resource and lead generation, will now be rolled to Europe, Ayers said.
"We have customers all over the world, as well as a long-standing partnerships in Europe [Intellect, Total Device, Quest, Secproof, Wipro, DCSR], but this has been managed remotely until now."
Todd Theimann, US senior director of product marketing, said: "We want to focus on larger corporations and enterprise, which is our bread and butter.
"Our technology can secure any file, any database, anywhere, both virtually and in cloud."
