Avnet invites Microsoft Star VARs to join its Club
Distributor launches programme to drive software sales
Distributor Avnet aims to bring its resellers closer to Microsoft with the launch of its Star Partner programme.
As part of the scheme VARs can receive support and advice from Avnet in areas such as pricing, business planning and pre-sales.
Taisha Betz, Microsoft business unit manager at Avnet, said: "The announcement highlights the strong relationship we have established with Microsoft over the years. These are exciting times for Avnet as we continue to develop initiatives that focus on delivering value for Microsoft and our business partners.
"With our new programme, we aim to reward the loyalty of our business partners with a range of tangible benefits that should demonstrably drive forward their Microsoft business," she added.
The invitation-only top tier, to be known as Club Partners, will initially consist of 40 top-performing resellers. This select band will be able to benefit from a rewards programme, allowing them to cash in credits for training and marketing purposes.
Barry German is core software division director at Avnet parter Frontline Consultancy, which has been accepted onto the Star Programme.
He said, "Avnet is exceptionally supportive and has played a major role in the development and growth of our Microsoft business. We believe the new programme will provide both practical and financial benefits when winning new business and adding emerging Microsoft technologies to new deals."
