Ronaldo ranked most dangerous player at Euro 2012

Portuguese talisman still poses a threat despite country's penalty exit, says McAfee

His Portugal side may have crashed out of the tournament last night, but Cristiano Ronaldo remains the most dangerous player at Euro 2012, according to McAfee.

The security vendor has compiled a list of players whose names are being exploited by malware creators when they are searched for online. Fans of the Portuguese captain entering search terms including "Cristiano Ronaldo"; "Cristiano Ronaldo and photos"; and "Cristiano Ronaldo and download" might inadvertently find themselves clicking on a site that could infect their PC with viruses.

McAfee's SiteAdvisor technology has given each player at the Euros a risk rating, with the Real Madrid star leading the way with 6.2 per cent. Second is Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic on five per cent, followed by England captain Steven Gerrard on 4.5 per cent.

Other players to make the cut on a rather top-heavy teamsheet include Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko and no fewer than seven Italians: Gianluigi Buffon; Giorgio Chiellini; Mario Balotelli; Andrea Pirlo; Antonio Di Natale; Antonio Cassano and Daniele De Rossi.

France and Portugal are the joint most dangerous teams to search for, with McAfee awarding each a risk rating of 7.1 per cent. Germany were next on 5.4 per cent. In time-honoured fashion, the Germans narrowly edged out England, who were tied with the Netherlands on 5.3 per cent.
