Cisco and Citrix team up to deliver partner profit
Joint partners will capitalise on market trends, according to the companies
Virtualisation giant Citrix and Cisco have combined to launch a partner programme designed to enable the companies' joint VAR partners to cash in on enterprise and virtualisation trends.
The Cisco and Citrix Partner Accelerator programme will align channel sales and delivery models, as well as provide sales and marketing tools, according to the vendors.
Brian Allison, director of datacentre go-to-market solutions at Cisco, said the programme reflects industry trends.
"Customer trends such as bring your own device, work shifting, mobility, video, collaboration, desktop and application virtualisation, and cloud are changing the workplace," he said.
"Customers look for solutions that enable them to access all applications, communications services and data securely, with a superior user experience, from any device, anywhere, anytime.
"The Cisco and Citrix Partner Accelerator draws from the two companies' best practices to give channel partners the resources they need to deliver complete, multi-vendor solutions that meet the needs of the changing workplace, and build more strategic relationships with their customers."
Citrix, which has been working with Cisco for two years, claims the joint programme marks the next step for the companies.
Cynthia Gallant, vice president of worldwide channel strategy and market development for Citrix, said: "The Partner Accelerator arms our joint partners with the tools and training they need to build more strategic relationships with customers and grow their business by increasing revenue and shortening the sales and implementation cycle."
