Entatech adds e-cigarettes and Excalibur games

Accessories specialist expands distribution into entertainment and health accessories

Distributor Entatech UK has signed up to offer PC games from Excalibur Publishing as well as E-Lites, a range of the so-called electronic cigarettes aimed at helping smokers to quit.

Paul Olliver, retail manager at Enta, said the distributor was particularly excited about the deal with Excalibur, which specialises in simulator titles for PCs.

"Excalibur Publishing is a fantastic brand and we are really looking forward to increasing awareness of their product range among our customers. They have a wide variety of games which will appeal to the occasional gamer through to the die-hards," Olliver said in a statement.

Titles include Farming Simulator, Euro Truck and Bus Simulator 2. Enta is planning a series of promotions in conjunction with Excalibur.

The distributor also recently announced a deal with UK e-cigarette brand E-Lites.

According to Enta, E-Lites' electronic cigarettes are "the most authentic tobacco alternative" because the experience of using them so closely resembles smoking tobacco.

Enta's Olliver said E-Lites are the first product of this type the distributor has offered.

"We are very optimistic about future sales of this product. E-Lites are available at an excellent price which enables us to offer some fantastic margin opportunities to our resellers," he said.

Dave McGirr, director of national accounts at E-Lites, was quoted as saying demand for E-Lites has expanded "dramatically" in recent months as a result of increases in tobacco tax and sales restrictions.

"Also, smokers are becoming more aware of this smoking alternative, which gives the nicotine hit without [all] the health risks associated with tobacco and tar," McGirr said.

According to E-Lites' website, the e-cigarettes produce a vapour that the user inhales, but it contains fewer toxins than the smoke of a tobacco cigarette.
