Metadigm launches growth push
Growing security VAR eyes £5m turnover mark
Security VAR Metadigm has set itself a short-term revenue goal of £5m after recruiting Steve Malone to broaden its vendor portfolio.
Metadigm currently employs 20 staff at its offices in Cambridge and central London but is looking to add sales and technical headcount this year as it looks to grow beyond last year's turnover of £3m.
The firm changed hands in 2010 and Malone - who previously worked for rival Infosec Technologies - said new owners Jason Simper and Nick Scott harbour bullish growth plans.
"The idea is to keep growing and bring in new and interesting vendors to add into current portfolio," he said.
Metadigm currently works with the likes of Check Point, Fortinet, Juniper, Cryptocard and RSA, for data loss prevention (DLP), primarily serving end users with 250-1,000 staff.
"There aren't that many RSA DLP partners," said Malone. "RSA has got about 700 deployments worldwide, and Metadigm has done two out of the handful in the UK. DLP fits well with us as it is a product where you have to do some real digging around in terms of what the customer has in their environment."
Since Malone joined earlier this year, Metadigm has added wireless vendors Aruba and Meraki to its line-up, as well as cybercrime prevention outfit Damballa, for which it is the first UK partner.
"Our expansion plans are to take turover up to £5m in the next year or so and continue growing from there - we have very ambitious plans," he said.
