Moulton rocks up at Capstan

Former Westcon chief joins distributor on a permanent basis

Voice and data distributor Capstan Communications has hired former Westcon and Siemens executive Neil Moulton as channel development director.

Moulton left his post as head of voice sales for Westcon in 2007 and has since largely been working as a consultant.

He has now taken a permanent role at Capstan where he will help the distributor scout for resellers to take on recent vendor signings Toshiba and Lancom.

With 20 staff and about 400 dealer partners, Horsham-based Capstan draws about 65 per cent of its turnover from pure IP products.

Moulton said: "Capstan has been my main client for six months. We have done some trial marketing and we have had such fantastic uptake of Toshiba and Lancom partners that it made sense to dedicate myself to this."

Toshiba enlisted Capstan to take on its first pure IP business telephone offering, IPedge, in January.

Moulton described Lancom as "Cisco without the aggravation".

"It is top-grade, German-manufactured product and is particularly strong in WiFi," he added.
