SICL to sharpen sales edge
Reseller to hire on sales side of its business after posting seven straight years of growth
VAR SICL is on the hunt for sales staff in its coming financial year in the hope of continuing its run of seven successive years of growth.
The reseller posted record revenue of £4.6m for its last financial year, which finished at the end of June.
Managing director Cliff Fox claimed SICL had stayed ahead of the curve on cloud.
"Our growth has been small but successive over the past seven years," he said.
"We have been very innovative about cloud. We launched a cloud platform somewhat ahead of the hype; it was really the next step from managed services.
"We offered a more comprehensive service beyond the router to the desktop, and this has helped us grow in a poor economy."
The firm has hired Bob Finney, formerly of Oracle, Computacenter and HP, as its new sales and marketing manager in order to spearhead the hunt for sales staff, Fox added.
He said: "Of our staff, about two thirds are technical and we pride ourselves on that. However, next year is about sharpening up our sales efforts.
"We are not standing still on sales and for the first time ever we are looking to acquire business, which is a new thing for us."
