Audio Visual Material rolls out rental projectors

Distributor eyes up large-venue deployments and screen needs

Distributor Audio Visual Material (AVM) has launched a projector rental service targeting audiovisual trade hire companies.

Mark Nisbet, managing director of AVM, said the new service would offer high-spec professional projectors suitable for large venues.

"We have identified a gap in the market for professional, highly specified projectors for short-term rental," he said. "Most specialist projectors are a big investment and will probably end up sitting on an event company's warehouse shelf 75 per cent of the time. It makes financial sense to hire them, as and when."

Glyn Harries (pictured), rental manager at AVM, said the focus would be on projectors from Christie.

"They are experts in the professional sector of the live events market and their products are known for their quality as well as their ruggedness," he added.

Projectors on offer through the rental service include the WUXGA 10,500-lumen WU12KM and the 10,000-lumen HD10K-M, with all relevant lenses. The distributor can also advise on models suitable for warping, edge blending and 3D projection, as well as screens.
