Coraid fosters special relationship with Exclusive Networks

Ethernet SAN vendor looking to replicate US success on this side of the pond

Ethernet SAN vendor Coraid has appointed Exclusive Networks as its sole UK distributor as it aims to break the back of the UK market.

The vendor, which boasts more than 1,500 global customers, is looking to replicate the success it has enjoyed in its native US on this side of the pond.

Peter Godden, senior director for EMEA at California-based Coraid, said Exclusive will act as the perfect icebreaker.

"Over the last couple of years Coraid has grown 10 times by revenue," he said. "It is crucial that we invest in the right partners to help us maintain this success, especially in the UK."

The scale-out architecture of Coraid's EtherDrive solution is designed to allow customers to start small and grow capacity through modularity and reduce operational expenditure. It is particularly suited to virtualised environments, the vendor claimed.

Jason Dance, UK sales director at Exclusive Networks, sad Coraid would provide his resellers with a "superior" big data storage offering.

"We have already started to see excitement through the channel with this product, and we are confident that resellers will increasingly reap rewards as Coraid's business scales up in the UK," he said.

Godden added: "Big Data is the key. The advent of high definition imaging has doubled storage requirements, and 3D has quadrupled it. Marketplaces such as media, oil and gas, life sciences and cloud computing are ripe for Big Data solutions. Exclusive Networks UK has a lot of big media partners already buying through them, so it gives us instant access to the market we are after."
