Cloud Industry Forum welcomes new recruit
Nasstar becomes the latest addition to the body which aims to promote cloud uptake
Hosted desktop provider Nasstar has become the 32nd addition to the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF).
The industry body was established three years ago to advocate cloud adoption and set best practice terms, and was recently joined by vendor Citrix at the start of the month
The reseller, which has been involved in selling cloud products since 2004, said that confidence in cloud is key to attracting more business towards the cloud.
Charles Black, Nasstar's chief executive, said: "The cloud can deliver huge benefits to the increasing number of businesses moving their IT from local based computing to online.
"It is important that businesses can have confidence that the industry is setting the right standards and best practices."
CIF, which publishes research and white papers about cloud computing, said that Nasstar's security focus make them a unique member of the group.
Andy Burton, CIF's Chair, said: "Along with our other members, Nasstar will help to drive the market agenda and improve the range of options by which organisations can choose to deploy and access their IT solutions.
"Nasstar's emphasis on standards, security and best practice makes them a very welcome addition to the CIF membership roster."
