EMEA channel head lands at AlienVault

Security vendor aiming to grow market share with new channel signing

AlienVault is on a mission for a larger slice of the EMEA market, after appointing a new EMEA channel director.

Andrew Morris will be based in the UK and his challenge is to define and develop the security vendor’s EMEA channel strategy and coordinate all its regional sales teams.

Morris joins from LogLogic, where he was instrumental in setting up the firm’s EMEA channel, including developing strategic relationships with MSSPs, its EMEA service engineers and support team. He was then seconded to California where he oversaw the vendor’s world-wide pre and post sales teams.

Commenting on his new role, Morris said: “I’m delighted to be back with my family in the UK and am excited by this new challenge with AlienVault. Its portfolio, I believe, offers organisations the perfect combination of technologies knitted together in one solution to make sure nothing slips through the net. That’s going to be increasingly important as we continue this period of austerity.

“What I like to think I will bring to the EMEA market is the bridge between helping end users understand the challenges they face with the perfect solution to plug the security holes in their systems. I plan to work extremely closely with our channel partners to make sure they get all the support they need so they can best serve the needs of their customers,” he added.

Richard Kirk, senior vice president, international at AlienVault, said: “We’re delighted to add Andrew to our team as his enthusiasm is infectious. His SIEM experience will be invaluable as he understands the space in which we operate and the challenges customers face.

“He has a track record for developing channel strategy and supporting channel partner success, and I know this will be beneficial to all our partners across the EMEA region.”
