MTI makes Scottish splash with Millstream deal

Storage integrator hopes deal with e-procurement service provider will fuel its success north of the border

Storage integrator MTI has talked up its Scottish progress after announcing a cloud and managed services deal with Aberdeen-based e-procurement service provider Millstream.

MTI will supply disaster recovery solutions to the Scottish firm for its full UK operations.

Simon Walters, managed services director at MTI, said the Scottish win was an important step for the firm.

"We are delighted with our further wins in Scotland as we see it as a key demographic for us in terms of our expansion plans. Millstream is a key partner in Scotland and it is important for the company's continued success," he added.

"It really is onwards and upwards in Scotland, and the Millstream win is a very important step in this process."

Last July, the storage firm acquired security VAR GSS, a move which has fitted "hand in hand" with MTI's cloud service offering, according to Walters.

Millstream provides secure electronic delivery of sensitive financial documents across the UK, a process managing director Tim Williams claimed is part of the reason it chose MTI.

He said: "We absolutely have to be able to provide a reliable service that we can restore immediately even in the event of a major disaster.

"MTI's services significantly enhance our capability to maintain business continuity and rapid recovery from any disaster."
