ScanSource signs Wincor Nixdorf EPOS deal

Targeting resellers to retail, hospitality and kiosk customers

Specialist distributor ScanSource has inked an agreement to onsell the EPOS hardware of German manufacturer Wincor Nixdorf.

Bert Fonderie, vice president for merchandising at ScanSource Europe, said the products will especially suit VARs targeting retailers, the hospitality sector, and kiosk operators with various retail, data-capture or mobility products.

"With hardware solutions that are tried and tested in the retail, hospitality and kiosk environment, we can provide more offerings to minimise power consumption and deliver maximum availability," Fonderie predicted.

He said Wincor Nixdorf kit is already installed in "many well-known establishments" across Europe. However, the vendor is looking to target smaller retailers now as well as larger ones.

Martin Smethurst, managing director of the UK and Ireland retail arm of Wincor Nixdorf, said the manufacturer is looking to expand its sales to resellers. ScanSource would offer post-sales support, he added.
