New Corero boss to refresh channel
Paul Lawrence appointed as vice president of international sales operations
DDoS-prevention vendor Corero Network Security has given new international vice president Paul Lawrence the task of rolling out a fresh EMEA channel strategy.
Lawrence served as vice president and general manager, EMEA and Asia at Top Layer, the network security vendor Corero acquired in February 2011 following a change in strategy and top management. He has also held management positions at Barracuda Networks, Response Data Communications and AirTight Networks.
In his role as vice president of international operations, Lawrence will implement a new business development and channel strategy across EMEA and Asia.
With the DDoS-prevention market set to swell 24 per cent this year and be worth $420m (£270m) by 2016, according to market watcher Infonetics, Lawrence claimed Correro is operating in a market sweet spot.
"As the first line of defence, Corero uses advanced, next-generation technology to stop all forms of DDoS attack, protect infrastructure and eliminate costly downtime," he added.
Corero chief executive Marty Meyer said: "Paul's knowledge of Corero's rich technology history will be a huge benefit in developing partner and sales initiatives and I look forward to working with him to develop these new programmes."
