Maverick tempts VARs to boost display sales

Credit extension and tablet giveaways to fan reseller interest

Maverick is trying to light a fire under its commercial displays portfolio, extending channel credit to 60 days and offering free tablets with certain purchases.

Simon Fagan, UK and Ireland director of Maverick, said sales of its Samsung, Philips and Sony displays are "relatively brisk" but he believes there is yet more potential in the commercial displays category.

"The sales are good, although maybe not quite as good as we would like," he told ChannelWeb. "Specifically, in this instance, [this initiative] is around products related to the education peak period [for installation in the summer]."

Resellers with existing Maverick or C2000 credit accounts can apply for 60-day terms, available on Samsung, Philips and Sony commercial displays until the end of this year.

If 10 qualifying Samsung, Philips or Sony displays are purchased from Maverick, a 16GB Apple iPad2 may be bundled into the deal. If a reseller buys only larger displays, fewer purchases are needed to obtain a tablet.

For example, if a reseller opts for 65in or larger displays, it only needs to buy three to get a wireless-enabled iPad, according to a statement released by Maverick.

"It is not necessary to purchase all qualifying products on a single purchase order, so resellers only need to purchase enough of the displays between now and the end of the year," it said.
