Liquidware Labs throws down VDI gauntlet
Vendor "bumps heads" with its UK competitors as it continues to recruit VARs
Virtual desktop vendor Liquidware Labs has taken aim at its more established UK competitors as it continues to grow its base of reseller partners.
The US-headquarted company, which was founded in 2009, has increased its number of active Acceler8 partners from four to 17 since it touched down in the UK last year, and is on the hunt to double that number by the end of this year.
Scott Bennett, director of UK, Benelux and southern Europe at Liquidware, said the company "bumps heads" with other vendors in the UK VDI space.
"We run into companies such as RES [Software] in profile management and that is a growing market. I respect RES, but people are starting to look at us because their budgets are tight," he added.
"We are very affordable, which differentiates us from our competitors."
The vendor claims it has enjoyed a 400 per cent revenue surge in the past year, and said there is no reason why the same growth cannot be repeated in the next financial year.
Dan Falconer, UK territory manager, said established VDI vendors have helped to pave the way for its success in EMEA.
He said: "In some ways, it helps to be the new kids on the block as the market has matured already."
Liquidware's primary offering in the UK is a VDI product which it claims can deliver all aspects of virtualising the desktop. Falconer added that the company's product offering sets it apart from its rivals.
He said: "Other companies such as RES have great tools in their space but no complementary products to wrap around them, which puts us in a unique position to work from within the VDI market.
"Profile management is such a big market and there is a lot of room, we are just another player in the game, but now is the time to build our UK channel."
