Exec duo bids adieu to Webroot

Global marketing chief Chris Benham and EMEA channel man Paul Reynolds moving on

A brace of senior execs has left Webroot, including one of the leading lights of its EMEA partner organisation, ChannelWeb has learnt.

The firm's chief demand officer Chris Benham has departed for personal reasons. A member of the vendor's senior management team, Benham held overall responsibility for marketing and branding. He spent more than five years at the Colorado-based security specialist, having previously spent an 11-year stint at Symantec.

Another recent departure from Webroot is Paul Reynolds, who has joined data security firm Trustwave in a role overseeing its service provider business across EMEA. He previously served as EMEA strategic alliance director at Webroot.

It is not known if and when either man will be directly replaced, or by whom. Webroot confirmed both departures, but was unavailable to comment further.

The Webroot channel has endured a tumultuous year following the vendor's decision to exit the email security and archiving markets, and brought in minimum order values on its web security wares. About the same time, long-standing regional channel chief Ian Moyse exited the firm.

Six months ago the vendor expressed its contrition for the way it handled the shake-up, and urged partners to get on board with its mobile security line, which is now its flagship technology.
