Comstor appoints Cisco veteran Dohmen as EMEA boss

Andreas Dohmen to drive distie's Cisco business and expand regional footprint through new partnerships

Comstor has appointed Cisco veteran Andreas Dohmen as its new EMEA executive vice president.

Dohmen (pictured) spent a decade at the networking giant, serving in roles including vice president of worldwide business operations and head of the vendor's European commercial business before his departure late last year. He has also held senior posts at firms including Alcatel and Siemens. Dohmen spent five years in the German armed forces and has degrees in economics and nuclear physics.

"During my career, I have had the pleasure of working with Comstor on many occasions. I never cease to be amazed at its dedication and focus on partners, backed by an in-depth understanding of Cisco technology and business strategy," said Dohmen. "I am excited to now be serving alongside this top-notch team and believe we can achieve great things together in the months and years to come."

The new EMEA boss has been charged with overseeing Comstor's Cisco business across the region and will report to Comstor president Jon Pritchard. He is also expected to increase the Westcon-owned distributor's footprint across the region by cultivating incumbent partnerships and cementing new ones.

Dean Douglas, chief executive of Westcon, said: "Comstor has aggressively built a reputation as the market's go-to Cisco distributor. One reason is the quality and experience of the management team we have been fortunate enough to recruit. Andreas brings with him a deep understanding of what is necessary for partners to effectively develop new revenue streams leveraging Cisco's award-winning technology."
