Kaspersky crowns Lintell as first European channel boss
Andrew Lintell to introduce more consistency to Russian security vendor's channel in new role
Security vendor Kaspersky Lab has promoted UK sales boss Andrew Lintell to head up its newly formed European channel organisation.
In his role as European channel director, Lintell (pictured) will oversee the creation of a European partner programme and develop go-to-market initiatives across the region.
Talking to ChannelWeb, Lintell said he would introduce more consistency for partners across the region and differentiate resellers specialising in the firm's newer products, including virtualisation security.
"This is about how we can better leverage all the channel experience we have in the company and have a slightly more regionally co-ordinated route to market," he added.
"We are getting into virtualisation and that is a slightly different partner profile. There is a whole new set of guys we need to understand and ensure we are tailored to."
Lintell, who joined Russia-based Kaspersky last February, now sits on Kaspersky's European management team, reporting into chief sales and marketing officer Garry Kondakov.
Some management functions have moved back from the US to Europe in recent months, he confirmed.
"With Garry coming into [the CSMO] role, he saw an opportunity to rationalise some of the reporting structures," Lintell explained. "Europe is the largest region for the company."
The UK is now being run by general manager Malcolm Tuck, who recently returned to the vendor after a 10-month hiatus.
"I have a good opportunity to put some innovative things in place that are genuinely valuable to partners," Lintell concluded.
