Kelros helps aerofoil manufacturer fly to the clouds
VAR wins deal to bring firm's factory workers onto email system
VAR Kelros has completed a significant IBM cloud email installation at compressor and turbine aerofoil manufacturer Centrax.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, saw Kelros integrate factory employees into its overall email platform by adding them as new cloud users, giving them access to electronic reports instantly and without the added printing costs.
Previously, factory employees had no access to the company’s email system.
Nick Sanderson, IT systems architect at Centrax, said: “We were able to provision the cloud-based email for the factory employees at about 25 per cent of the cost of on-premise email.
“By having all employees connected, we have improved our ability to respond to customer requirements and market demand.”
“Email can be accessed through the intranet at computer terminals that are dotted around the factory floor, or even from home via a browser. In the future, this could extend to a variety of different devices,” Emma Basson, sales manager at Kelros, confirmed.
Baiju McCubbins, portfolio leader, SmartCloud for social business at IBM, added: “Centrax TCL has been able to use the cloud to unite its workforce and streamline its business by being able to offer alternative ways of working for its factory employees.”
