Former Minx business boosts Insight UK in FY11
Resale giant files robust accounts for UK operations
Reseller giant Insight held UK sales and profits at its core business firm during its 2011 fiscal year, while the former Minx networking business went from strength to strength.
For the year to 31 December 2011, Insight Direct UK Ltd saw revenue remain more or less flat at £413.8m, while pre-tax profit jumped 9.5 per cent year on year to £9.7m.
The firm's net assets rose from £49.5m to £51.3m over the course of the year, documents recently filed with Companies House reveal. Staff numbers were on the up last year, with employee ranks growing from 803 to 874 during FY11.
Stock and debt levels also grew, with the value of resale goods on Insight UK's books spiking from £2.9m to £4.4m. Money owed to debtors was up from £89.4m to £97.5m by year-end.
Insight Networking Solutions Ltd, which represents the business of Cisco Gold partner Minx, which Insight acquired in 2008, was in solid shape during FY11. Revenue expanded 43.5 per cent to £23.5m, while pre-tax profits grew more than sevenfold to £2.7m.
