Long-term channel player leaves to join recruitment industry
Hired by new audiovisual Woop division focusing on specialist skill sets
After years in channel roles at Mitsubishi Electric and Sanyo, Jason Cox has taken a job as a recruiter in the audiovisual specialist division at Woop Jobs.
Denise Flahey, director at the agency, said Cox (pictured) had worked for 13 years at Sanyo – first in consumer products, then in the pro-audiovisual projection area where he was charged with setting up and establishing the Sanyo brand in the area.
He then spent two years at Mitsubishi Electric helping to develop the vendor's display wall business across EMEA.
"I have known Cox for a long time and we are very happy to be able to have his expertise and enthusiasm in our team," said Flahey in a statement.
The Woop tech division, focusing on audiovisual recruitment, has only just been launched this summer.
Cox confirmed that his channel work includes key transferable skills as well as in-depth industry knowledge.
"I have always enjoyed the concept of change in any part of my life, so the challenge of moving into a new field where I am able to transfer many of my core skills seemed like a great idea," he said. "As a recruiter one has to be able to know the needs of both candidates and clients."
