Quartermaine pops up as Juniper's UK boss

Networking vendor enlists former Capita and Azzurri boss to drive enterprise push

Juniper Networks hopes new UK boss Mark Quartermaine can help it cement ties with large enterprise customers and service providers.

Quartermaine (pictured) arrives at the networking and security vendor with a wealth of experience at large multinational tech firms, including BT and IBM. He most recently spent short stints heading up IT service provider Capita, and before that comms integrator Azzurri.

In his role as area vice president for UK and Ireland, Quartermaine will be responsible for driving sales strategy, revenue and team performance across Juniper's service provider and enterprise business in the region.

He will report to Sean Dolan, senior vice president of EMEA.

Dolan said Quartermaine has detailed knowledge of both the public and private sectors.

"His experience of large-scale customer deployments will also be a huge asset for our business as Juniper continues to push into the enterprise space and consolidates its position among leading UK service providers," Dolan said.

Quartermaine added: "I am very impressed with Juniper's unique approach to networking, providing a blend of programmable, open software and high-performance hardware to create truly intelligent solutions. The prospect of selling these solutions to new customers and building bigger relationships with existing ones is very exciting for me."
