VAR opens new London office to expand offering to a range of verticals

IT services and support provider System Professional has opened a new office in the City of London on the back of a 45 per cent expansion of gross profit in the 2011-12 financial year.

Chris Moss, marketing director at System Professional, said the nine-year-old East Sussex-headquartered VAR has been expanding rapidly more recently. In the year ending 31 March 2012, it has also increased staff numbers by 50 per cent.

"Historically, I suppose the business was really focused on specialist equipment and suppliers. We had a strong relationship with HP, in storage and traditional server supply, for example. But in the past three or four years, we have begun to really focus on IT support and IT managed services capability, and brought in a new technical director," he told ChannelWeb.

System Professional works with 30 vendors, including HP, Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, EMC, Kemp, NetApp and Whiptail.

He said the company's new office (pictured) is in central south-east London and the firm counts SEGA Europe, the Royal Albert Hall, the Science Museum, Moet Hennessy UK and the O2 Arena among its current London customers.

Its around-the-clock, UK-based helpdesk support is part of what is driving its expansion, as well as managed services, virtualisation, backup and disaster recovery offerings, at a range of non-profit organisations, government bodies and private companies.

"We were already dealing with a lot of London customers and companies across the south-east, but we desire to expand and grow and try to win more customers in London," Moss confirmed.

Key here would be the ability to respond quickly to customer requests and demands, using additional personnel as well as technology. More staff may yet be added, he hinted.

A launch event for the new office has been planned for mid-September, Moss said.
