Damovo UK chief moves to Oz

Paul Butcher waves farewell to integrator as Simon Payne steps into the managing director role

Damovo UK’s managing director Paul Butcher is heading off to Australia next week to take up a new role, CRN has learned.

Deputy managing director Simon Payne has stepped into the managing director shoes and will continue to build on the company’s growth plans.

Butcher (pictured) has spent the past four years at Damovo and his new role will be to head up the assurance division at risk management and compliance specialist SAI Global.

In a statement sent to CRN, Butcher said: “Since joining Damovo in 2008 there has been dramatic change both in the macroeconomic environment and in the ICT industry. While it is clear that there are no quick fixes for our economy, and it will be a long haul back to prosperity, I passionately believe that ICT has a key role to play in helping to rebuild the UK.

“We are in the midst of generational market transitions of anytime anywhere access, cloud and big data that are already having a real impact on how we work, live and play and will have even greater impact in the coming years.

“At Damovo it has been exciting to be involved in many new projects that have enabled new ways of working [and] genuinely made a difference to our clients' businesses. I leave behind a great team of people who under Simon’s leadership will prosper as they exploit the opportunities created by these market transitions.”
