Apple now wants Galaxy S3 banned in US

Battle between the vendors intensifies as Apple submits new 'ban list' to court

Apple has submitted a new list of Samsung products that it claims infringes its patents and wants banned in the US, including its flagship Galaxy S3 handset.

Also on the new list of 21 products submitted to a court in California is the Galaxy Note tablet.

According to Apple's amended submission, the iPhone maker said: "Samsung has systematically copied Apple’s innovative technology and products, features, and designs, and has deluged markets with infringing devices in an effort to usurpmarket share from Apple.

"Instead of pursuing independent product development, Samsungslavishly copied Apple’s innovative technology, with its elegant and distinctive user interfaces product design, in violation of Apple’s valuable intellectual property rights," it added.

Initially in February, Apple looked to ban 17 Samsung products for infringement of a range of patents, including spelling autocorrect and touchscreen unlock.

The vendor then won a separate case, being awarded more than £1bn in damages following a ruling that Samsung had violated Apple patents.

After that ruling Apple moved to have eight devices permanently banned from the US, but last week the hearing was moved to December.

Samsung revealed it will fight the bans using "all necessary measures".
