Smart shuffle adds management layer
Sales director named EMEA VP as latter takes on new global role
Smart Technologies' EMEA sales director Frederic Arneodo has been promoted to EMEA vice president, with the incumbent moving into a newly created position overseeing global business for the interactive technologies vendor.
Tom Hodson, interim president and chief executive at Smart, said Arneodo (pictured) has been marketing and selling networking, collaboration and security tech in EMEA for 20 years, at a range of vendors including Compaq, 3Com, Avaya and Juniper. He joined Smart in 2008.
"We will continue to sharpen our focus on the business segment and extend our global presence," he said. "These executives have a wealth of experience and their expertise will further enable large-scale adoptions in the EMEA region and worldwide."
A replacement EMEA sales director is in the process of being recruited, according to Smart.
Hodson did not say who would take on the vacated EMEA sales director role.
The former EMEA vice president, Patrick Lelorieux, now has the title "senior vice president for the international and global business segment".
However, according to Smart, the position will primarily focus on the parts of the world outside its home territory, the Americas. That means EMEA and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as India, China and Japan.
When it comes to business solutions, however, Lelorieux will have responsibility for the whole world – hence the "international and global" nomenclature.
He is building "an integrated approach at a cross-functional level", according to Smart.
