Bytes unleashes Printerman on unsuspecting public

Silver tormentor's rampage through central London caught on hidden camera

Bytes Document Solutions has launched a Dom Joly-style viral video featuring the scourge of office workers everywhere: Printerman.

Part of the VAR's ihateprinters campaign, the video - which can be viewed here - is designed to show end users the benefits of moving to managed print services.

Printerman's rampage through some of central London's busiest hotspots was filmed undercover on 10 August.

Footage shows the silver tormentor chasing pigeons, asking passers-by whether he can show them his USB port and telling a police officer he is "looking for a PC".

Darren Spence, the brains behind the concept and managing director of Bytes Document Solutions, said: "For years now we have been approached by companies telling us of unexplained paper jams, toner problems and strange error messages associated with their printer fleets.

"We have had a team of investigators looking into the root of the problems and have deemed Printerman to be the cause. He's everywhere.

"We felt it was our duty to expose the antics of Printerman so office workers can unite in ridding the country of such a common menace. Working with Xerox, we have come up with a managed print service designed to protect organisations from ever falling victim to Printerman. It works, so if office workers want to protect themselves, they must get in touch."

The video follows on from Bytes' four-part Printer Smash Up video launched in April with Xerox.
