Micro-P unveils dedicated print division
Distributor sets ambitious growth targets as it looks to grow market share
Micro-P has officially unveiled its dedicated print division as it looks to smash ambitious growth targets in the coming year.
The distributor has a 30-year history in print dating back to the sale of the first daisy wheel printer in the 1980s, through to launching Epson in the UK channel in the 1990s.
It boasts numerous print vendor partners including Lexmark, Dell, Xerox, Samsung, Brother and Oki and is keen to strengthen its relationship with each vendor through the dedicated team.
Dan Lenan has been appointed as general manager for print at Micro-P, and he has been instrumental in seeing significant investment in the print division to bolster service and support as well as overseeing recruitment to the now 10-strong team.
He told CRN: “There has not been a general print manager at Micro-P for a number of years and I have taken the team from four up to 10 since I joined in January this year. We are aiming for a 30 per cent increase in business on last year.
“We are trying to look at how we interact better with the channel really, and ensure that Micro-P is the destination for print. We are re-engaging with vendors and partners better, and suggesting new ideas and opportunities. Our aim is to be proactive rather than reactive,” he said.
Lenan said the distributor has a healthy portfolio of vendors and wants to do the best job possible for each of its vendors.
“We have a viable message to take to our vendor partners and we can open up potential new customers for them. There are definitely some good times ahead,” he said.
