Westcoast mourns Howard Strowman

Leader of Westcoast Asset Management division dies in hospital after a tragic motorbike accident at the weekend

Westcoast is mourning the loss of channel stalwart Howard Strowman (pictured), who passed away yesterday after sustaining serious injuries in a motorcycle accident at the weekend.

Strowman, 67, was chief executive of Westcoast Asset Management (WAM) Ltd, the reverse logistics arm of the Theale-based distribution giant which specialises in logistics, refurbishment, WEEE recycling, wholesale and export remarketing services.

He started his IT career in 1973 as the founder and chairman of PST Holdings – a position he held for more than 30 years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

In a statement, Alex Tatham, sales and marketing director at Westcoast, said: "While this is a shock to all who knew him at Westcoast from a business perspective, those who knew him on a closer level will feel the great loss of a personality, a character and a great human being.

"But our grief will be nothing compared to that of his family and immediate colleagues and his close business partner Peter King, who are all part of Westcoast.

He concluded: "Our thoughts are with his wife Trina, family members and all who loved him. To say that he will be missed understates the loss of Howard – the full extent of this tragedy will be felt time and again as we carry on through this difficult period."

CRN would like to extend our condolences to all family and friends of Howard at this sad and difficult time.
