Beta Distribution motors past £100m mark
London-based print, hardware and audiovisual distie continues growth spurt as top line rises to £113m
Print, audiovisual and hardware distributor Beta Distribution continued its impressive growth run in its 2012 fiscal year as sales soared well past £100m.
For the 12 months to 31 March 2012, the Canary Wharf-based distributor grew revenue by 13.6 per cent year on year to £113.65m. Operating profit was up almost 20 per cent to £2.2m. Over the course of the year net current assets rose from £5.7m to £7.1m, while staff numbers increased from 63 to 70.
In the past three years the company has grown its turnover by 68.5 per cent, from its FY09 level of £67.4m. The directors' report for the recently closed financial year strikes a bullish note in predicting further success.
"We remain a very stable business with no customer contributing to more than one per cent of sales and our ever-increasing product portfolio gives me great confidence as we enter this new financial period that further successes are on the way," states the report.
"This year has seen a huge rise in the number of orders taken electronically, enabling us to keep overheads low and deliver full value for our increase in turnover. This is set to continue into 2012/13 and we will ensure that IT is at the centre of everything we do, so that we can continue to be as competitive as ever when entering new markets."
Beta distributes products from all the major print vendors, as well as PCs, storage, networking, servers, consumables and accessories.
