Several hundred resellers attend VIP event

First Evolution showcase from VIP returns interest, according to organiser

Distributor VIP Computers attracted 400 resellers to its Evolution partner event recently.

Dave Stevinson, sales director at VIP, said the aim was to show how the distributor could add value to partner relationships.

"We clearly demonstrated that an exhibition is the best way to build channel relationships. It was wonderful to see our resellers meeting face to face with our key vendors. Everyone had a great time and I have been overwhelmed with emails, texts and calls of gratitude," he said in a PR statement.

Three break-out sessions previewing Microsoft's Windows 8 and Server 2012 OSes were most popular, Stevinson (pictured left, holding forth to attendees) said.

"All three sessions were packed out and extra space had to be organised," he said.

One focus for the event was PC gaming, Stevinson indicated, which is enjoying "surging" demand. At the event, vendor partners were promoting their PC gaming-related offerings to resellers.
