Westcon expands HP security deal

Distributor to take stock of former 3Com gear

Westcon has deepened its relationship with HP's security division and is to distribute the vendor's former 3Com wares.

The New York state-based distie already carries HP's security products acquired through its 2010 buyout of ArcSight. The partnership has now been expanded to the TippingPoint and Fortify product brands.

Westcon claims the new agreement will mean it is able to provide the full array of HP's security intelligence and risk management (SIRM) technologies. Over the coming months the new additions will be incorporated into the distributor's LEAP training centres.

Bill Corbin, executive vice president of global vendor relationships at Westcon, said: "As our security practice is now offering a broader HP security suite, resellers have a powerful go-to global distributor to create new revenue opportunities driven by HP's market-leading technology."

Anthony D'Angelo, vice president for enterprise security worldwide channel sales, added: "With this expanded relationship with Westcon, we are delivering comprehensive security intelligence and risk-management solutions to the modern enterprise."
