Summer sizzler for UK display channel as it trounces Euro rivals
Context figures highlight UK as sole country to post annual growth in face of region-wide double-digit decline
The UK was the only country in western Europe to post channel sales growth for desktop displays this summer, according to figures from Context.
Units punted through UK distributors during July and August rose two per cent year on year, according to the market watcher. This compares with a decline of 14 per cent across the region as a whole.
The top three vendors in this country account for about half of all shipments, but the trio had mixed fortunes this summer. Samsung and Acer posted growth of eight and 38 per cent respectively, while second-placed HP endured a 10 per cent decline.
BenQ showed well, as its unit sales through distributors doubled year on year, while Lenovo posted 50 per cent growth, according to Context.
