Lanway hits back of net with Burnley FC

VAR inks IT support deal with Championship football club

Lanway has extended its long-running relationship with Burnley Football Club by inking a total IT support deal with the Championship outfit.

Having worked with the Lanway since 2001, the club has now completely outsourced its IT management to the VAR following a three-month trial period. It expects the deal to chop a quarter of its annual IT costs.

This will include 24/7 monitoring of Burnley's systems, hardware provision and cover and extra out-of-hours support on match days, when IT infrastructure comes under more strain.

Andrew Henderson, managing director of Lanway, said: "Our relationship with Burnley FC stretches back many years so we've really been able to get under the skin of its operations. Consequently, we've delivered a tailored solution that ticks all the boxes.

"Businesses are increasingly turning to outsourced IT, due to the cost and resource savings on offer. The ongoing support provides piece of mind too."

Doug Metcalfe, Burnley FC's stadium manager, said: ‘The new support arrangement will look after all of our day-to-day IT operations, and is a significant and strategic decision taken by the club. We're delighted with how the relationship with Lanway is developing, specifically relating to the response times and technical expertise on hand to support our business operations."
