RM Education grabs seven-figure DfE deal

Five-year contract to inform national education policy worth £1.67m to VAR

RM Education has beaten off stiff competition to bag a five-year, seven-figure contract with the Department for Education (DfE).

Under the deal, the VAR will run the DfE's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) programme from 2015, which measures the knowledge and skills of young people in maths, reading and science.

Together with the University of London and World Class Arena, RM Education's Assessment and Data division will deliver the programme, which covers England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

RM will also represent the DfE at international PISA management meetings, the first of which took place in Paris last month.

Bruce Harri, head of data solutions at RM Education, said: “We are delighted to have been trusted by the DfE to run such a high-profile and important study: a responsibility which we feel recognises our proven expertise in the collation and analysis of education data.”
