Staffordshire looks to attract more IT firms

New £8.5m business park to host 2,500 staff from businesses focused on technology and research

Staffordshire County Council has approved an £8.5m high-tech business park development that will aim to attract IT firms from next summer.

The council said in its announcement that the Redhill site, off the A34, could host as many as 2,500 skilled employees on seven plots, and would target businesses in the research and tech sectors.

Ben Adams, cabinet member for skills and employment and deputy leader of Staffordshire County Council, said development would start soon and would aim to finish by next summer.

"The potential to deliver a significant number of hi-tech jobs means this is big news. Redhill will be a welcome addition to our family of sites for business development and increase the county's skilled workforce," he added.
