Exponential-e gets connected in Brighton

Networking specialist increases internet bandwidth by 1,900 per cent at Brighton-based conference centre

Networking VAR Exponential-e has helped a Brighton-based conference venue get up to speed with a high-speed internet installation.

The Brighton Centre, which is the largest purpose-built conference venue in the south of England, hosts numerous events, including the TUC and LibDem annual conference.

As a result of the 200Mbps installation, part of the venue's £1m facelift, it will now be able to provide delegates with one of the fastest, most resilient broadband connections in the country, including Wi-Fi, and has increased its internet bandwidth by 1,900 per cent.

Howard Barden, general manager of The Brighton Centre, said: "We facilitate events of all different shapes and sizes and compete against the UK’s major venues in London, Manchester and Birmingham. It doesn’t matter if it’s a concert, business meeting or party political conference, everyone wants reliable internet connectivity as this underpins the digital and interactive nature of events in the 21st century.

"This capacity increase allows us to partition sections of our bandwidth and then dedicate that chunk to a specific service, such as dedicated internet access for an event. This investment follows on from our extensive refurbishment, which was completed at the start of the year and reinforces our position as one of the UK’s leading conference venues.“

Lee Wade, chief executive of Exponential-e, said: "We are delighted to be working with The Brighton Centre and Exponential-e is proud to be a part of the recent enhancements it has made. We’re seeing a growing number of hospitality venues, from The Brighton Centre to major football clubs, recognising the role of technology in enhancing the guest and visitor experience.”
